Julie's Journey to Neonatology Needs You

Hi my name is Julie Lopes. I’m a 16 year old Brazilian-American first generation high school student at South River High School. For years now I’ve been determined to do everything I can to become a Neonatologist. I was recently nominated to represent my school and community at The National Youth Leadership Forum: Medicine and Health Care in Los Angeles, California. This program is a week long immersive medical program for high school students all over the United States that give students the opportunity to learn and study different aspects of the medical field and get the chance to learn hands on with their simulation classrooms. I work three jobs and I am heavily involved in my school. I have been volunteering cheer coaching for the past two seasons; about 200 volunteer hours. I am the Secretary of Future Business Leaders of America, Secretary of the Future Healthcare Providers Club, and the Social Media Coordinator of the Social Justice Club. In addition, I am a member of the Student Ambassador Club, and Rutgers University Business for Youth. I am looking for donations to help ease the cost of tuition because I am funding for this on my own, and unfortunately even with my two jobs I am unable to pay my entire tuition by the deadline of June 1st, 2025. Come help me chase my dream.

Olá, meu nome é Julie Lopes. Sou uma estudante Brasileira-Americana de 16 anos, de primeira geração, do ensino médio da South River High School. Há anos, estou determinada a fazer tudo o que puder para me tornar uma neonatologista. Recentemente, fui indicada para representar minha escola e comunidade no Curso Nacional de Liderança Juvenil: Medicina e Saúde em Los Angeles, Califórnia. Este é um programa médico imersivo de uma semana para estudantes do ensino médio em todos os Estados Unidos, que oferece aos alunos a oportunidade de aprender e estudar diferentes aspectos da área médica e ter a chance de aprender na prática com suas salas de aula de simulação. Tenho três empregos e estou fortemente envolvida com minha escola. Tenho sido treinadora de líderes de torcida voluntária nas últimas duas temporadas; cerca de 200 horas de voluntariado. Sou Secretária da Future Business Leaders of America, Secretária do Future Healthcare Providers Club e Coordenadora de Mídias Sociais do Social Justice Club. Além disso, sou membro do Student Ambassador Club e do Rutgers University Business for Youth. Estou buscando doações para ajudar a aliviar o custo da mensalidade, pois estou financiando isso sozinho e, infelizmente, mesmo com meus dois empregos, não consigo pagar toda a minha mensalidade até o prazo limite de 1 de junho, 2025.
