Julien from Haiti
Donation protected
This is Julien, He's 62 years old. He's from Haiti and has been homeless in New York City for several years.
He speaks four languages fluently: Spanish, English, French, and Portugease. Julien suffers from severe diabetes and is a bilateral amputee. Already, he has lost all of his toes and is currently at risk and could lose four of his ten fingers.
Through generous donations, Julien has been able to come out of a men’s homeless shelter and into a rent-controlled room in the South Bronx. For this guaranteed shelter every night, Julien must pay $350/month.
These donations also cover Julien’s medications:
1.Insulin
2. Glucophace 150 and
3. Varasotech 25 (for his high blood pressure).
A 30-day supply of these costs $98.
Julien was able to get a pre-paid phone to stay in communication with myself and his family. This costs $30/month
Where he is now is way better than the situation he was in last November. We have started composing a resume and looking for jobs that he can manage with his disabilities. Ideally, he would be able to work as a translator.
We’re very excited but these needs still need to be met so he can stay in this great position. The daily cost of keeping Julien in this position is $21/per day.
I'm asking all of my Facebook friends for $1 and a share. I want Julien's story to be heard.
Please help fund Julien.
