So many of you know my Mom and Dad personally. They have always had an open door policy to all four of their kids' friends. In March 2015, my mother was diagnosed with an intercranial brain tumor. While most of these can be easily removed, her tumor has grown in a very difficult location. It's location requires them to drill down from the top down to reach the tumor (located behind her left ear). She is considered a HIGH risk for surgery. The surgery could leave her left side paralyzed. She is curently being seen at the Mayo Clinc in Jacksonville, Florida. This is approximatley 4 hours from home. Though, there will be several additional visits, the doctors are leaning heavily towards 5 days a week of radiation for 6 weeks. I quit work to take my mom's place at home. This includes taking care of mother and father plus their two grandchildren (aged 1 year and 8 months). The last week long trip (gas, lodging, and food) cost $800. My mother suffered a D.V.T and a bilateral pulmonary embolism in 2011 and a second one in March of this year. Which adds more complications to the already high risk illness. My father was medically discharged/retired from the USAF and currently suffers from Lyme Disease himself, resulting in their only monthly income coming from diability and retirement. All prayers are appreciated greatly. If you are are in a financial position to offer anything we highly believe in paying it forward. It is extremely hard for us to ask for help, even though we are the type of family that would be first to help others. Thank you and God Bless.
