Hi, my name is Rory Sorensen I'm raising funds to help my family cover her end of life expenses. Anyone who has met my Mom knows the light that she shined on this life. She has demonstrated love, acceptance and kindness to everyone. Most of her adult life was spent raising me, my brother Ryan and our little sister Ashely who was born with brain damage and cerebral palsy. Life was complicated for our family navigating the unique circumstances of having a family member with disabilities. Together we found our way to have the best life possible. Our home became the place to gather for our friends because of the love and understanding my parents showed to all. The care she gave us took a toll on her body and mind. After struggling with depression and mental illness for the last many years she once again found the light within her and let her light shine again until her last breath.

The last couple of years has been complicated financially for their household. In 2021 their basement was destroyed by a flash flood which wasn't covered by insurance. In April of this year, my Dad Jerry Sorensen suffered a aortic aneurysm that almost took his life, which caused him to reduce his work hours. In November he slipped on the ice and broke his femur which put him down and is trying to recover to come home. Friends and family have been asking how they can help and the most help is needed financially.
