Dearest Family and Friends,

Many of you know that the McKinsey Family has recently shared the news that Julie has been diagnosed with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease.

Julie and David have always cared for God's family. With caring hearts and open arms, they are the first to check in on individuals with a warm meal, a kind call, or a homemade bouquet of flowers from Julie's garden. They always have words of love and encouragement and have touched so many lives.

Now it's our turn to show up for this sweet family. Julie is facing significant health challenges. David, Julie, and the family have been diligently researching, doing homework, meeting with professionals, meditating on God's word, and knowing this journey is a marathon, not a sprint.

Many friends and family have expressed the desire to bring meals to their house or stop by with a gift basket. Due to Julie's need to follow a very restricted diet and be extremely cautious about the products she uses, the traditional meal train or just dropping by with a small gift or gesture is difficult. On top of that, many of the doctors Julie is seeing, the therapies she is going to, supplements she needs, and treatments that are crucial to her care are not covered by insurance and must be paid for out of pocket. That is why we have decided to create a GoFundMe page. This is a way we can rally around Julie, David, and the family. David and Julie have given so much to others. Let's wrap our arms around them now and remind them they are not alone. Every gift and kind word makes a difference. We also know every prayer lifted up to God does too.
