My name is Linda and I am posting this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friend, Julie. She is a vibrant, outgoing, and caring person who has been fighting an insidious disease. I never realized how serious endometriosis could become. Since 2014, when symptoms began, she has undergone total hysterectomy with subsequent recurring endometriosis and at least 2 other laparoscopic surgeries. The endometriosis has resurfaced and is now affecting multiple organs-Gastrointestinal, colon, bladder. Quality of life can hopefully be attained if she can get a surgeon who specializes in recurring, invasive endometriosis.  As we all know medical expenses can be astronomical. The best I can do on estimation of costs, based on her inquiries thus far, would be anywhere from 18,000-100,000 based on specialists from New York, California, and Atlanta. We also would welcome recommendations from anyone else that has encountered similar problems. Needless to say, there is an emergent need due to the aggressiveness of this disease.  She has been unable to work since March and that has been difficult as she was always a bright light to the patients she served, both in a hospital setting and lastly at a Hospice facility. She needs to get back to helping others, which she does best.
