Julia fell and hurt her back on 9/17/21. After an extended diagnosis time, she had a burst L 5 vertebrae as well as assorted spinal compression issues. A complex surgery took place on January 19, 2022. Recovery will take at least 3 months of 24 hour support and no stairs! The cost of gathering friends and a place to stay has quickly added up! She could use some help with these unexpected cost from an unexpected injury.
She is now courageously dealing with post surgery rehab at the Sutter Roseville Medical Rehabilitation Center and needs our support and love. Jules is being cared for by the excellent Rehab staff of men and women who keep cheering her on as she works through her tsunami of pain. She has to be strapped into a back brace daily as she learns to move, walk and rebuild her spinal nerves and their connections. The pain has been astronomical and yet, with extreme courage and determination, Jules is developing personal tools to keep up her efforts as she slowly moves forward. Julia will be in this back brace for a minimum of 3 months and needs to make enormous changes in her life style to regain her independence and return to work at CALFIRE.
We are a team of friends who are fundraising to cover the costs of her extensive post rehab needs including: *accessible housing *nursing assistance * daily living support * home health care * equipment * lost wages for living expenses * possible relocation expenses. All contributions are tremendously appreciated and will help us get Jules back on her feet and out into the sunshine! Thank you for letting your love shine on Julia!
