Does Anyone Remember Cannabis Activist and MS Patient Julie Falco?
For more than a decade, Julie Falco tirelessly advocated for the sick and disabled. She spoke, organized, testified, and pushed forward cannabis legalization when it was unpopular, illegal and difficult — all to make medical cannabis legal for those who truly needed it.
In 2014, Julie proudly attended the ceremony in Springfield when Governor Pat Quinn signed medical cannabis into law.
That fight was won.
But in 2020, Julie’s own fight became a matter of survival.
Julie has lived with Multiple Sclerosis for over 40 years. In recent years, her condition has progressed dramatically. She has endured repeated hospitalizations, surgeries, and serious health crises. Today, she has lost much of her mobility and relies on a motorized wheelchair, a Hoyer lift, and daily caregiver assistance just to get through the day.
Despite all of this, Julie has never stopped caring about others. From her bed, she still advocates, still helps, still shows up — with the same determination she always had.
Now, Julie needs help.
She is facing significant medical debt and the ongoing cost of essential caregiving, which is overwhelming. She is actively working with multiple agencies to secure long-term assistance, but these systems are slow, exhausting, and difficult — especially for someone battling MS every day.
The need is immediate.
So we are humbly asking for help.
