Julie (CHILDS) Zahnd liver transplant and recovery

Donation protected
We are Julie's daughters and we are here to try and raise funds for our mom. She is the most caring and loving person who has always made due to assure others are taken care of before herself and now we want to do that for her. We want to be able to help put her at ease and allow her to fully focus on her recovery.
Our mother has dealt with health problems our whole lives yet never failed to be an amazing mother and keep her head held high. Now as we are older, we understand more, and we wish to help her in any way that we can. As some of you may know, this is not her first time undergoing a liver transplant, her first one took place 27 years ago. When she was 28 years old she was diagnosed with budd-chiari syndrome, which made her 1 in 100,000. With that being said there is no doubt that her body has been put through so much. As she is older now and just underwent another liver transplant, recovery is a seemingly tougher and longer road.
As some of you know she got sick around this past Christmas and was aware that she was going to need a new liver. On New Years day she was added to the transplant list. She had been in Omaha at UNMC for 21 days before she received an offer for a new liver, that day was Superbowl Sunday. However, she didn't have the transplant until two days later on February 13th. On February 14th they put her under again to finish the surgery by connecting her bile ducts. This time around has been much harder on her but she is a fighter and has a strength to admire! As of today February 28th, she has been in the hospital for 36 days and is planning to be discharged from the hospital within the week if nothing changes. Though she will be discharged from the hospital she is to remain in Omaha for 1-2 months to be monitored.

Unfortunately, this means she will be unable to work until she has fully recovered, adding financial strain to an already challenging
situation. As her daughters, we are launching this campaign to seek support in helping our mom, Julie through this difficult time.
The funds raised will go towards covering medical expenses, post-surgery care, and everyday living costs during her recovery. Your generous contributions will not only ease the financial burden but also provide the emotional support she needs to focus on her healing.
