On Friday, April 20th Julie woke from sleep with excruciating head pains.  She was rushed via ambulance to Methodist Hospital where it was discovered she had suffered a medium to large brain aneurysm.
Interventional Radiologists preformed an emergency angiogram procedure where it was decided too risky to proceed.  A day later, it was determined, the same risky procedure was the only option.  Her aneurysm
was coiled successfully, but she still suffered extreme head pains.  A few days later another procedure was performed to release pressure in her cranial cavity due to an excess of fluid.  The source of Julie’s aneurysm
is from and AVM (Arteriovenous Malformation) which occurs in 1% of the population and is still present.  The AVM will need to be treated upon full recovery and release from the hospital.  The most common treatment is through outpatient radiation.
