My name is Alicia and on August 19th my little sister Julia, got into a horrible car accident. Herself and the driver were ejected from the vehicle after flipping multiple times, and were laid in the middle of the highway, presumed dead from the passenger in the back seat. My sister was in the hospital for over a month and sustained multiple injuries. She fractured 5 vertebrae in her neck and back, fractured her shoulder, sustained a brain bleed, and had gashes and scrapes on her face and over most of her body. The doctors were afraid of her neck fractures severing her spinal cord, so she underwent surgery, in which a cage was placed to keep her neck stable, and giving it the ability to heal. Even after being released from the hospital, her journey to health is nowhere near over. She still needs day to day assistance, and cannot work or drive. She also has to travel back and forth into Queens for doctor appointments. She is on the mend but could seriously use some support.

Our family is asking any friends, family members, coworkers, or strangers for help in any way they can. Julia is still undergoing a lot of medical care and my mom has taken off work for the past couple months to take care of her. Her medical bills and monthly living expenses are a huge burden on our family. Any donated amount would be greatly appreciated, and would allow my sister to focus completely on healing.
