Voluntary Hearts Community for Girl-child Concern (VHC-GCC) led by my astonishing friend and sister Julia Musisi, is dedicated to educating and empowering Ugandan girls to engage in the economic and social wellbeing of their community. We helped them a few years ago fund a new building and water source. Now they’ve finished 85% of the construction of their new vocational school, medical clinic and pharmacy, and cafeteria. They need to raise additional funds for a solar electricity project that will provide alternative, affordable power to their facility. Their goal is $50,000. The young women who participate in the VHS electrical installation classes will be involved in this solar installation project, gaining more valuable on-the-job training. VHC plans to open their new facility in Kikusa, Uganda in January 2022. VHC expects to have over 150 women students, as well as provide much needed healthcare services to the community.
