Dear friends and family,

I have put off and delayed sharing this news publicly, but realizing that at this time “I need a little help from my friends,” I am sending you this note with the news that I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer at the end of 2016.

After the initial shock and disbelief, I spent many hours researching and educating myself about my diagnosis and learning about all the possible options available to me to stabilize and treat it. I reflected on the experiences of (too) many friends and family members who have also dealt with a Cancer diagnosis, went with the recommended conventional treatments (surgery, chemotherapy and radiation) only to still not fare well in the end. Losing several family members to this disease (and witnessing the brutal side effects from treatments), I wanted to carefully consider all the options – both conventional and alternative (Ozone, IV infusions, nutraceuticals, acupuncture/reiki, supplements, blood work, etc.) - and to my surprise there are many. I was so excited when I learned there are many alternative options and people around the world have and are healing from Cancer and living long and full lives without having to experience the toxic and harmful effects many conventional therapies sadly induce. As with all important life changing decisions, I needed to feel good and confidant with my choice. At this point, that means going with a combination of conventional (hormonal therapies) and alternative therapies to heal my body.

It may have seemed like I dropped off the Earth. Some of you may have noticed the drastic change in my focus (diet/vegan/tons of juicing/no more late nights). Please know there has been a very good reason for what may have appeared to be madness – I’ve been busy healing. I apologize for not reaching out or making attempts to get together, but now you know why. My priorities changed… overnight. And since my diagnosis, all my energy and resources have been directed towards one goal – healing my body of Cancer.

Since changing my life and lifestyle habits completely, I have been managing my Cancer and keeping it contained. As of my recent PET scan last month there is currently no metastasis, though my blood markers are increasing slowly. My Oncologist says the reason for the increase is due to the type of BC I have which is hormonally driven (triple positive). I recently started hormonal therapies to address this issue. It’s too soon to say what affect it’s had, but we’re hoping for positive blood results next month.

However, there is much more that can and needs to be done. The healing process is slow and requires diligence and action. I have a window of opportunity to add additional alternative therapies that are known to eliminate Cancer cells, but this requires treatments our US Healthcare System either doesn’t know about or simply does not offer. Many of these treatments are standard practice in other countries. Unfortunately, insurance will not cover these treatments. Up to this point, we’ve been covering all the costs ourselves. However, at this time, we simply don’t have the extra funds it will take to receive the necessary alternative treatments needed to really heal my body. That is why, dear family and friends, after going it alone, I’m reaching out to you. I need your help! If you, or someone close to you, is able to donate whatever they can, you/they would be supporting a very good cause… my healing… my life. I’ve never been comfortable with asking for outside help, but at this crucial moment in my life, I can not deny that support from friends and family members is what I need the most.

I’ve created this GoFundMe account to make it easier for you to make a donation and share it with close friends and family members that you think can help our family during this challenging moment.

Now is the time to bear down and hit the Cancer with everything possible, while I still have relatively good health. Your donations will allow me to receive additional alternative therapies that will all help to rebuild my immune systems and stop and reverse Cancer Tumor Cell progression. Together with hormonal therapy, I have a better chance at healing from this disease.

It is with positivity and hope that I send this link to you so you can share it with your close friends, family members, work colleagues, members of your house of worship, etc. whom you think may be able to help me and my family in this time of need. If nothing else, please keep me in your thoughts and prayers and know that I feel it and it does help! This is the first time I’m making this news public. It feels strange revealing my ‘secret’ to the world, but it can no longer be denied.

Please know that I am thinking of all of you and looking forward to the day I can put this challenging moment in time all behind me and join you in celebrating life! Please don’t hesitate to reach out and say hello.
