Help Juliana get back on her feet again

On Monday, Sept. 26th, my cousin Juliana had the unexpected happen. It was a night like any other night. She was getting her things ready for school the next day and went to bed. Not long after going to bed, she went into her mother's room saying that she wasn't feeling well. Within 15 minutes, Juliana lost feeling in her legs, arms, feet, and hands. She was taken up to UMass hospital where she has been staying ever since. After extensive testing, the doctors and nurses are appalled by her condition and are still unsure of the cause.

Every day Juliana has made progress. After day 7, she was able to lift her arms and grip objects with her fingers. Her lower half, however, hasn't been as responsive. As of right now, the doctors are hopeful that through intense physical therapy she will eventually regain sensation in her legs and feet and learn to walk again.

As you can imagine, this heartbreaking situation has taken a toll on everyone in the family both mentally and financially. However, through all of this, Juliana has managed to keep a smile on her face and stay positive. For a kid who would give anything to be active and play sports over sitting on the couch watching tv, her high spirits are truly admirable.

We are so grateful for the love and support we have been receiving and are hopeful that with this GoFundMe page, we will be able to lessen the financial impact for Makenzie and Juliana.
