Hello, my name is Louie, I started this gofundme page for my son Julian Robles. Julian was born 05-01-2014 he was only 23 weeks, 1 lb 5oz; 12 inches, definitely a night I’ll never forget. Julian is now 8yrs old And has overcome many obstacles and still does today. Besides the sporadic seizures, daily medication(s), weekly therapy and doctor visits across town, loss of fine motor skills (which he has and continues to improve everyday), twice per year Botox injections in his inner thighs where he is held down by me or mom as he kicks and screams, a shunt that’s placed in his skull for a lifetime Due to brain bleeds he developed because of his prematurity And lack of oxygen to the brain when he was born and the list goes on… Despite everything, Julian somehow Finds it in himself to be A happy little boy even though he is unable to walk unassisted like the other kids due to his cerebral palsy in his legs he uses a walker which he is using in the picture above and his wheel chair.
Julian needs a surgery called Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy which is a procedure performed by a neurosurgeon To decrease spasticity in the legs permanently to one day After therapy and basically learning to use his legs again Julian will one day walk unassisted.
The surgery is taking place in St. Louis and is already scheduled for June right around the corner. We we’re able to put Julian on a secondary insurance which is covering most of the bill.
