Julian was born August 28, 2016 at 38 weeks! My pregnancy was wonderful no cravings, no pains, no sicknesses, no frustrations or complaints. I loved every second of it! Labor was quick and not as painful as I thought. He was born a beautiful and healthy baby. Finally, we were a family of 4! I didn't have trouble putting him down to sleep, giving him a bath, or feeding him. He was such a good baby and my other son loved having him around.
•January 1st 2017 we noticed he had a fever and he wasn't acting normal. We decided to take him to an ER, we were there for a couple of hours and were discharged home with no explanation of what he had.! Next morning, we take him to a different ER they did a couple of exams but nothing was found once again we were sent home with no answers. My mother instinct was telling me something was seriously wrong with my baby and I couldn't shake that feeling. We decide to take him to a different ER, they do some tests and nothing shows up to this point I’m desperate to know what’s wrong with my son he hadn't eaten in a couple of hours and was vomiting non stop. They decide to do a urine test and found he had glucose(sugar) in his urine. They checked his glucose and his levels were 650+ the normal is 80-120. My heart stopped, my whole world came crashing down. I didn't know what to do all I could do was cry and hug my baby. I couldn't imagine what he was feeling!
• January 6, 2017 My son was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes and Thyroid. It wasn't the answer we wanted but finally we knew what he had and how to control it. We had to learn how to check his glucose and how to give him insulin before being able to go home! The first times were the worst but Being the strongest baby that he is he never cried once.!
•Doctors continued doing tests to see why he had diabetes so young as it is not common for a baby under 9 months to be diagnosed with it. At 6 1/2 months he was diagnosed with IPEX, a rare genetic disorder that affects his immune system as it attacks its own healthy cells and tissues leading to many different complications, such as pancreas failure, thyroid, stomach failure, psoriasis and many more! The only way he can get cured is by having a bone marrow transplant, or else life expectancy is about 2 years! Seeing our son get sicker as days pass is the hardest thing we have ever been through. The second toughest thing is relocating to another state it is financially stressful. We decided to move so my son can get his transplant with the specialist on IPEX, it has been a tough decision but we have faith that he is in the right hands!
•I have started this account in hopes of raising some money to cover some of our travel expenses and for the long road we have ahead! we have given up our lease and are currently selling all of our belongings, my husband is the only one that works and he will have to take some time off to take care of my other son. If you could help with anything that would be greatly appreciated!

El parto fue rápido y no tan doloroso como pensé. Él nació un bebé hermoso y saludable. Finalmente, éramos una familia de 4! No tuve problemas para ponerlo a dormir, darle un baño o darle de comer. Él era un bebé tan bueno y mi otro hijo le encantaba tenerlo alrededor.
• 1 de enero de 2017 nos dimos cuenta de que tenía fiebre y no estaba actuando normal. Decidimos llevarlo a emergencias, estuvimos allí por un par de horas y nos dieron de alta sin explicación de lo que tenía.! A la mañana siguiente, lo llevamos a emergencias diferente le hicieron un par de exámenes pero nada fue encontrado una vez más nos enviaron a casa sin respuestas. Mi instinto de madre me estaba diciendo que algo estaba seriamente mal con mi bebé y no podía sacudir ese sentimiento. Decidimos llevarlo a un centro de emergencias diferente, hacen algunas pruebas y nada se muestra hasta este punto estoy desesperada por saber qué está mal con mi hijo, no había comido en un par de horas y estaba vomitando sin parar. Ellos deciden hacer una prueba de orina y descubren que tenía glucosa (azúcar) en su orina. Le hacen una prueba de glucosa y sus niveles eran 650+ el normal es 80-120. Mi corazón se detuvo, mi mundo entero se vino abajo. No sabía qué hacer todo lo que podía hacer era llorar y abrazar a mi bebé. No podía imaginar lo que estaba sintiendo!
• 6 de enero de 2017 Mi hijo fue diagnosticado con Diabetes Tipo 1 y Tiroides. No era la respuesta que queríamos pero finalmente sabíamos lo que tenía y cómo controlarlo. Tuvimos que aprender a revisar su glucosa y cómo darle insulina antes de poder ir a casa! Las primeras veces fueron las peores pero siendo el bebé más fuerte que conozco nunca lloró una vez.!
• Los médicos continuaron haciendo pruebas para ver por qué tenía diabetes tan joven, ya que no es común que un bebé de menos de 9 meses sea diagnosticado con eso. A los 6 meses y medio fue diagnosticado con IPEX, un trastorno genético poco frecuente que afecta a su sistema inmunológico, ya que ataca a sus propias células y tejidos sanos, lo que lleva a muchas complicaciones diferentes, como fallo pancreático, tiroides, insuficiencia estomacal, psoriasis y muchos más. ! La única manera que puede curarse es tener un trasplante de médula ósea, o la esperanza de vida es de unos 2 años! Ver a nuestro hijo enfermarse a medida que pasan los días es lo más difícil que hemos pasado. La segunda cosa más difícil es trasladarse a otro estado es financieramente estresante. Decidimos mudarnos para que mi hijo pueda recibir su trasplante con el especialista en IPEX, ha sido una decisión difícil pero tenemos fe que él está en las manos correctas!
• He comenzado esta cuenta con la esperanza de recaudar algo de dinero para cubrir algunos de nuestros gastos de viaje y para el largo camino que tenemos por delante! Hemos renunciado a nuestro contrato de arrendamiento y actualmente estamos vendiendo todas nuestras pertenencias, mi esposo es el único que trabaja y él tendrá que tomar un tiempo libre para cuidar de mi otro hijo. ¡Si usted pudiera ayudar con cualquier cosa seria muy apreciado!
