Chica Project: Turns 5 fundraiser

Hello everyone, 

 As you may know, I am the first person in my family to graduate from college.  As a Latina, I was fortunate enough to overcome the cultural and systemic barriers impacting women as they strive to achieve their potential. As a result of my journey, I devoted my entire professional career to creating opportunties to help others do the same. 

 I recently joined a local nonprofit volunteer board for Chica Project (a program of the City School) . Chica Project is a  leadership development and mentoring program for Latina women and girls.  Chica Project’s mission is to close the opportunity divide for young Latinas living in Boston and Gateway Cities through an empowerment program that provides them with the confidence, inter-personal skills and a support network that is crucial for them to thrive personally and professionally.

Your donation supports the activities of a young girl and her mentor,  food for our 65 participants & our volunteer staff,  van transportation for our girls from throughout the state to attend our college tour, our annual career panel & speed networking event and  hotel and associated costs for our annual leadership development retreat and much more.
