Julia & Jim Saeger Housefire Fund
Donation protected
On Monday September 27th, after dropping their dogs off at their son's house, Jim and Julia made the drive to sit vigil at the bedside of Jim's terminally ill mother. While this mercifully meant that no living beings were present in their home when the housefire began around 3PM that day, the house and everything in it was burned to ash.
While pumping gas at the Exxon on 209, I noticed smoke rising from her neighborhood. When I called her to let her know that there was a fire close to her home, I never imagined it would be her house. They rushed back to see nothing left but an empty shell. After a hectic and emotional night spent with their loving sons, they learned that in the early hours of Tuesday morning, Jim's mother passed on to join her husband, Jim's father, who was laid to rest only last month.
Julia and Jim have been dear friends to me for many years. And they are friends to their community as well. Julia founded the For Kids' Sake Learning Center and Kindergarten Academy in Brodheadsville and has dedicated many hours volunteering, mainly for the benefit of children. She is a wonderfully talented artist and member of the Pocono Mountain Art Group. I am proud to call them my friends and am devastated to see them suffer this misfortune.
Anything you can spare is deeply appreciated. Thank you.
