Jules & Salma Car Loss Fundraiser

Help Jules & Salma recoup some of the losses they incurred from trying to buy a car. Unfortunately, the person they bought the car from lied about the smog test and the condition of the car.

Instead of being at 95k miles it had 250k and has a plethora of other things that need to be fixed such as the valve cover gasket leaking, power steering pump leaks etc. The cost to fix all of these would be another 5-10k. Ideally, we'd like re-sell the car but that may never happen given how much work needs to get done and how many miles are on it.

Oakland is not a walkable city. period. Having a car would greatly improve the quality of life for Jules & Salma allowing them to get to work, go to the gym, run errands etc.

We hope to raise even a small portion of the funds that they lost which is ~5k.

Thank you so much for sharing, donating or just supporting us in general! I know I wouldn't be where I am if it weren't for my community sending me $ when I didn't have a job or was in a financial crisis. This is a large hit for Salma & Jules as they are working their first jobs since graduating from grad school so they are trying to build a secure base of emergency savings and get their footing here in Oakland. The system we live in makes it hard to survive without a car. This is a chance to help to individuals not only survive but thrive in it. Love always <3
