Jules needs your help...Another BFPA puppy fighting parvo!
Tax deductible
We can't believe we are having to ask for help again so soon, but today one of the puppies named Jules we pulled from the same shelter/day as Scout (our other medical puppy) tested positive for parvo, coccidia, and giardia. Today was day 9 since leaving the shelter, and it can take up to 10 days for symptoms to appear. She wasn't eating last night, and we hoped it was due to moving to a new foster home, but when she still wasn't eating this morning, we knew we had to have her tested. So far, her littermate, Vincent, that she has been fostered with tested negative, but we are treating him with outpatient care just in case.
Today we spent $2,000 at urgent care between the two puppies and put a deposit down of another $3,872 at the ER vet since Jules had to be moved to be hospitalized. We are hopeful that since both puppies received their first distemper/parvo vaccine at the shelter 3 weeks ago and also received the new Canine Parvovirus Monoclonal Antibody injection, the virus will be mild and Jules will have a quick recovery. Thank you again to all of our generous supporters that are able to contribute to their medical bill. No amount is too small to help these sweet babies!
