Julek’s Fire Relief Fund

I am creating this fundraiser for my mom, Bogusia, and she own(ed) Julek’s Polish Kitchen in Talent, Oregon. She grew up in Poland, and moved here to Oregon in 1989. She had always had a dream to share her passion of cooking with her local community, and we brought that dream to life on September 29, 2012 when we first opened her restaurant. She has been the chef since day one, and has spent the better part of almost everyday there for the last eight years. On Tuesday night, September 9, 2020 the Almeda Fire tore through our town and left a devastating trail of loss. Our family restaurant was one of the many businesses that did not survive. Because Julek’s was like a second home to her, she had many belongings there that she was not able to take before evacuating. My mom is currently staying with me, Aniela, as her home is still unsafe and inaccesible to her. We are asking for any amount of help that you can offer to get her back on her feet—this has been her livelihood and something she has poured her soul into for nearly a decade, and today she has nothing, and doesn’t know how to go on.
