We are currently in a crisis and need your help.

Our family car has suffered a catastrophic breakdown. The quote for repairs is over $10,000—money we simply do not have. Our car started having issues at the beginning of the summer when the transmission/CVT started going out and it began struggling to shift. Then in August our oil started leaking and we found out in September and there is a massive oil cooler leak coming from a crack. We tried temporary fixes and were going through quarts of oil a week, hoping to make the car last until our tax return when we could afford a new (old) car, but it gave out sooner than we expected. We've also been driving on a spare tire for a couple months. I know this is a very unsafe practice, but we have had no other choice. Unfortunately, on Friday (11/29) it got much worse and it is no longer safe to even drive temporarily.

This breakdown has brought our lives to a complete halt. My wife is disabled and my oldest daughter has autism. We rely on this car for safety, mobility, and work. As of right now, I cannot drive for work, my wife can't get to her crossing guard duties for the elementary kids in the community, and my children are unable to attend school since we're out of the boundaries and necessary therapy appointments for my oldest. They are also unable to walk the roughly 2 miles to take the public bus for work and school.

We are raising funds to either repair the vehicle, which consist of an oil cooler at $1,500 and CVT at $7,000. Or find a replacement so we can return to work and get the girls back to school . Any donation, no matter how small, helps us survive this gap.

Please help us get back on the road. It is our only means to survive right now.
