Update: I had to get my shunt taken out. It was actually working and gave me so much relief, but it got infected with Pseudomonas and caused ventriculitis. It wasn’t anything I did wrong, but it’s frustrating because now I feel like I’m back at square one.

Unfortunately that means I’ll have to have another brain surgery to put another shunt in and hope it doesn’t get infected… I’m trying my best to stay positive despite what has happened. This will be my 3rd brain surgery in less than 2 months.

I even had Tristan cut my hair so it’d be easier to manage, but then the doctors shaved off even more and had to remove some infected skin. So now I’m starting the healing process all over again, with the risk of another infection. Tristan and I are doing our best to keep everything clean and safe, but honestly, it’s a lot.

If you know me, you know I usually push through, work hard, and show up for others no matter what. But right now, I have to admit I need help and that’s not easy for me to say.

About eight months ago, my whole life flipped upside down. Since then, I’ve been in and out of the hospital, fighting through a health journey I never expected. Most recently, on July 28th, I had brain surgery. What was supposed to be a less invasive procedure had to turn into something much bigger once doctors saw my condition was starting to affect my vision.

Recovery has been rough physically, mentally, and emotionally. I want so badly to get back to work and back to normal life, but my body just isn’t there yet. Meanwhile, bills keep stacking up: rent, utilities, insurance.. all the basics that don’t wait.

Here’s what donations would help me cover:

I’m so lucky to have an amazing support system.. my cousins, my partner, and my siblings have all stepped up in big ways. But times are tough for everyone, and I know it’s stretching them thin too.
