Judy's Road Home

Hi all,

Many of you may have already heard, but for those who haven’t—Judy is currently back in the ICU following a severe asthma attack, worsened by a recent bout with COVID. She was taken to the ER from home on Friday, August 29th. After exhausting all options locally, doctors made the decision to life-flight her to Roseville for more advanced care.

Initially, Judy showed promising signs of recovery, and we were hopeful it was the turnaround we had all been praying for. Unfortunately, over the past few days, she has suffered multiple heart attacks and remains in critical condition. It’s been touch and go, with several complications—but if you know Judy, you know she’s a fighter. She’s not done yet.

She continues to show signs of responsiveness—blinking and squeezing hands when loved ones are near. She’s fighting with everything she has, especially for Mike and Jack.

Right now, her friends are reaching out for help. As many of you know, Judy and Mike run their own business, and Mike is struggling to be by her side -out of town - while also keeping things afloat, back at home. Her sisters and close friends have stepped in to help, but we believe it’s time for Judy to have the two most important people in her life—Mike and Jack—by her side full-time.

We’re raising funds not only to support Judy’s medical expenses but also to help her family with everyday costs like rent, utilities, and bills. The goal is simple: to ease their burden so they can focus on what matters most—Judy’s recovery.

She’s not out of the woods yet and won’t be home for some time. Our hope is to eventually get her into a local rehabilitation hospital where Jack can visit her daily, and where Mike can be close without worrying about income.

If you’re unable to donate, please keep Judy and the McDermott/Spalding family in your thoughts and prayers. Positive vibes, kind words, and support mean the world right now.

Thank you all so much. We know Judy’s family isn’t one to ask for help—but we’ll collectively swallow any pride if it means getting her home safe and sound.
