My grandmother Judy Downes passed away this past Saturday, September 25th, 2021, due to a sudden and incurable battle with Bladder Cancer. From the time of diagnosis in July, Judy went from living a healthy life to living with her Heavenly Father in two short months. She leaves behind Irish Downes, her late husband, after 25 years of marriage. Judy worked until she was 75 years old – the downturn in the economy and loss of retirement benefits depleted their savings. Due to massive medical bills, he is unable to afford a proper burial of his wife, and needs your support.
Irish is a decorated Airman who served in the Air Force for five years and volunteered into Combat Control in Vietnam. He had 58 successful airplane jumps and trained in virtually every survival school the military had to offer in the Vietnam Era. After retirement, he volunteered for the Sumner County emergency management and a chaplain at Skyline Medical Center.
A devoted husband, church goer, chaplain, and voluntary lead of church security, Irish Downes is asking for your support during this difficult time. God Bless.
