The question, "How may I help?" epitomizes how Judy Culp shows up for others.
Judy has supported her family and helped raise her nephew to see him grow from a baby into a wonderful young gentleman. She saw a way to help and stepped into that role to support her sister. When their mother was diagnosed with dementia, Judy put her own life on hold. She moved in and lovingly cared for their Mother until she passed away two years ago. Judy barely caught her breath before becoming a caregiver for their ailing brother who passed away this last March.
Judy's heart for serving others extends far beyond her own family. Through her weekly newsletter, Refuel, the newsletter she says she wished she'd had while caring for her mother, she offers caregivers courage, comfort, and honest encouragement. She also hosts the MadLove podcast, where she inspires others with conversations about caregiving, grief, faith, resilience, and navigating life's hardships. Whether helping someone care for a loved one, navigate the healthcare system, or simply find hope in difficult times, Judy has always found a way to lift us up.
After decades of care, we hoped this could be the time for Judy to finally focus on herself. She made the difficult decision to leave a stressful job so she could focus on her own well-being. As she worked to build a business of her own, life got in the way, and she was delayed in applying for medical insurance. That’s when things took a severe turn. Judy has been diagnosed with Stage IV pancreatic cancer that has spread to her liver.
Now her focus is on doctor’s appointments, surgical procedures, treatments, and overwhelming medical expenses. Facing this diagnosis while worrying about how to pay the bills is another devastating blow.
Many of you have asked how to support Judy... Each donation (no matter what the amount is) will help cover medical expenses and allow Judy to focus on her treatment. If you're unable to give at this time, please consider sharing this page.
Judy has spent a lifetime carrying others. Now it's our turn to carry her.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your compassion and prayers.
