Hello, my name is Judson. I am fundraising for a two-part brain surgery to treat my Essential Tremor Disease this August. It is called Deep Brain Stimulation.

This year marks the 20th year since my tremors (shakes/trembling) first started to appear. Essential Tremor Disease is a nerodegenative movement disorder that affects movement, walking, digestion, speech, cognition/memory, and more. It can severaly impact certain abilities and quality of life. Some details about how it impacts me are further below.

My first surgery will be an invasive 6-hour-long awake opperation on my brain to insert two metal wires to the middle of my brain. Two weeks later, I will go back to have a "brain pacemaker" wired to the implants in my brain and installed in my chest.

In addition to my insurance out-of-pocket max, I will be out of work for 6-8 weeks with only about 1 and a half weeks paid. ANY help you can provide to make this possible will be immensely appreciated.

My head and neck

My range of motion
Myy memory
My cognition

At this point I have trouble with many things, some of which I am no longer able to do. Some examples include:

Buttoning shirts
Brushing my teeth
Putting in contacts
Typing
Putting in earrings
Eating from a spoon (can no longer do)
Eating with a fork (stuff that can't be stabbed)
Shaving

These are just a few examples. Additionally, the shakes make me very tired (and my current medicine even more so). They also leave my shoulders tired.
