Hello, Per the Go Fund Me Team, who are guiding me via email through this process, they requested I provide an update on our fund raising efforts for Judith, as it is important for all to know how you are helping her with your generous donations. As of July 3rd, we have raised approximately $1,009! I withdrew about $697 to send to Judith via my bank account. I heard from the Go Fund Team that it will arrive around July 10th, then I can forward to her. Jud is hoping to get corrals built first.
To recap: My name is Deborah Walton and I live on Oahu. My dearest friend of 30 years, Judith "Jud" Fero Tickell who is now 77 years old, lost her home and pretty much everything she owns or was sentimental to her on the Big Island to the volcano. Everyone who knows her, adores her. She touched a lot of people with her enduring spirit and engaging personality when interviewed by Mileka Lincoln of Hawaii News Now (Thank you Mileka for sharing Jud's story). Jud now sleeps in a moldy, leaky, wet horse trailer, with no running water, toilet or electricity in nearly non stop pouring down rain. She is desperately trying to build a corral for her horses as they are housed far away from her in poor conditions in temporary stables. She has to drive to her precious horses everyday to care for them, leaving her with little time or energy to think about her own living conditions. I pray we can raise some money so she can purchase materials and hire some skilled strong people to help her build some structures and fences. Aloha and Mahalo for your consideration.
