Hi, my friends! I'd like to share an update on my medical condition.
Up to this point, most of my days have been filled with a routine of light walks and hand-weight training. Both have been combatting chemo side effects such as heart damage, muscle-wasting, and chemo brain. Unfortunately, these exercise days are diminishing in number and in output. When I am not at appointments, I try to fit in time to fulfill my passion for photographing the desert. (BTW, thank you FB friends, for your many "likes" and comments of my excess number of posted images. My OCD kicks in, but it just gives me such pleasure sharing what I "see” on my walks on this journey.)
Great news! My latest scans reveal no evidence of new active cancer! I am, though, concerned my cancer blood markers tend to be increasing. I suspect this could be due to me cutting down on my regimen of organic fruit and vegetable juicing. It's just gotten too expensive to afford these powerful foods that I know have been an integral part of achieving my health goal. That goal is to meet and exceed current MBC research data that states 1 in 3 stage IV patients make it to year 5. It's been 3.5 years since my diagnosis.
My oncology team suggests Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) sessions that have helped many stage IV patients. These sessions are uncovered by insurance and cost $130.00 per session.
It is still a tough road ahead. My days now tend to be less fearful and more peaceful. For that I am truly grateful.
Again, I appreciate the remarkable love, concern, and kind generosity you've given me. It is tough these days to live our busy lives, to pay our bills and feed our families. But if you can help in any way - even a limited amount - I would be even more grateful and appreciative.
With lots of hope and great love for each of you.
