Judge Nick Kuntz Memorial Fund

Honorable Judge Henry Nicholas Kuntz, Jr. (1943-2018)

Judge Nick Kuntz, servant, loved one, father and friend, lived a life dedicated to his family and to the children and families of Montgomery County Ohio.  Judge Kuntz’s career spanned 45 years with Montgomery County.  He served as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney, Referee, Legal Director,  Court Administrator and 24 years as a Juvenile Court Judge.  Nick was always focused on helping kids.  He would tell parents in his court room, "getting their kids to school is like feeding them, and we must feed them everyday."  He always believed that it was his responsibility to protect the community and that treatment began with appropriate consequences.  He was consistently focused on balancing those responsibilities and on building better futures for children and families.  Judge Kuntz was taken from us just 6 months before he was to retire.

Nick's four children want to continue their Father's legacy with this memorial fund.  The funds will be donated to the Montgomery County Juvenile Court Foundation and a memorial for Judge Kuntz yet to be determined.

The Montgomery County Juvenile Court Foundation was established by Judge Nick Kuntz and was near and dear to his heart.  The Foundation funds are used to provide activities for court involved youth; sending them to Dragons games, the Dayton Opera, shows at the Schuster Center, 5K runs, Art Shows and numerous other pro-social activities that our youth would otherwise never be able to experience.
