Judah's Story
We hold loosely to the plans set before us, knowing that what might be a surprise to us, was never a surprise to our God.
Judah Charles was born Saturday February 22nd, 2020 at 2:35pm weighing 2lbs 8 oz at 36 weeks.♥️

Thursday the 20th, Judah was having a regular check up and final ultrasound with only 4 weeks left till due date. The doctor had immediately noticed the baby was only about 2lbs on the ultrasound when he should have been nearly 5 at this point. Shocked and concerned with his low amniotic fluid and his low weight we were immediately sent to St. David’s Hospital in North Austin.

Through the in-depth ultrasound and meeting with pediatric cardiologists and Maternal-Fetal-Medicine Doctors, we found out that sweet Judah has got two heart defects that might need surgery before we can take him home. We will know if the surgeries are needed when he is up in weight a bit. This combined with his low weight admitted us to the hospital Thursday night so they could monitor his heart & run some tests. After several low dips in his heart rate they decided little guy needed to come out ASAP.

Judah's Medical Issues
Doctors found a large hole in his heart, along with a failing tube that is insufficient to pump blood to his organs without help in mommas womb. These are two surgeries that will make it possible for him to be just fine and we are unsure about when we will be able to take him home. Could be multiple weeks. Or maybe even a couple of months.

Judah is also dealing with his belly enlarging, due to either obstruction or functional issues yet to be determined by a lab. Because this could cause a rupture, there might be a need for an emergency surgery or other surgeries depending on lab results.

We also were able to notice that our sweet little boy has some form of a genetic disorder most likely being Down Syndrome. Tests are still coming back. God has given us a very special and precious gift to share with the world & Elijah and I are so humbled that the Lord chose us for this sweet special gift.

It’s been an intense past couple of days and we are so overwhelmed by Gods sovereign timing along with the supernatural peace that we have experienced through this tough time.

Where We Are Now
After a few days at separate hospitals, we are finally reunited with Judah in the NICU at Dell Children's Hospital. We are waiting on approval to stay in the Ronald McDonald House across the street from the hospital. This will give us the opportunity to stay close to Judah for as long as we need.

God is so good and we praise Him for His perfect and beautiful plans that He orchestrated before the beginning of time.
Thank you so much to those who were praying and praise the Lord that our little guy has made it into the world. He came into the world as a warrior and we cannot wait to see the plans God has for our little one.
