Help Get Juba Back On His Feet
Donation protected

On December 14, 2019, his life forever changed. He was emergently admitted to the R. Adams Crowley Shock Trauma Center, as he had unknowingly contracted a vicious infection in his left arm that sent his body into septic shock. This immediately had him in critical condition in their multi-trauma ICU. I and many others, prayed only for a positive outcomes. He spent a total of 5 weeks in Shock trauma and went through 15 surgeries; we are forever grateful to the amazing work of all the doctors, nurses, technicians, and every other employee that was tasked with his care during his admission. On January 18, 2020 he was able to walk out of shock trauma and is currently working through rigorous rehabilitation of his body and specifically for his arm.
Any donation that you are able to make will greatly assist him. Not only will this enable Juba to continue to get the best available care, but it will also help him regain his independence, as he is dependent on many people now. He has many doctors appointments, daily dressing changes, and physical therapy exercises to complete. So far he's done it all with the positive attitude that he will one day return to his ICU and be able to be the best nurse he can, but also will now have empathy that only comes from experiencing exactly what he did. On behalf of Juba and his family, we appreciate the outpouring of love, prayers and support over the past almost 2 months and undoubtedly, in the months to come. Please feel free to share this fundraising effort with family and friends even if they don't know him personally. Let’s help Juba take the time he needs to get well, not worry about his finances for a few months, as he makes steps everyday on the long road of recovery!!!
