Juan's Healing Journey to Peru
Hello! My name is Juan Alzate, also known as the Luminous Healer, and I am about to embark upon the trip of my lifetime!
It may sound dramatic or even cliché, but this is it!
For the last 7 years, I have been blessed to train in and work with the Andean Peruvian Shamanic tradition, which I draw upon as a healing practitioner in the Chicago community.
As an active healer, I have witnessed remarkable transformations in the mind, body, and spirit of the individuals I have had the pleasure and honor of working with. It has truly been a transformative journey on all levels, and for that, I am eternally grateful.
Yet I have never been able to go to the source of this ancient lineage of the Qero (the indigenous people whom my shamanic practice is based on), located in the Peruvian Andes.
On Oct 15th, I will embark on a five-week journey to Cuzco, Peru and the surrounding Andean region. When I started the shamanic path it was very clear that while this work was helping me immensely in my personal life, it had the potential to positively impact our entire world!
Why is this is so important
As I prepared to go it alone on this deeply personal pilgrimage, I had a vision that it was time to live my dream to its fullest potential! This campaign is the result. I have been inspired to open this experience to all the people whom this work has touched and who are now a part of my life, as well as all those who are inspired by this mission. The main question I have been asking the Universe is, “How do I follow my dreams while allowing everyone involved to benefit from it?”
Currently I have just enough to go to Cuzco and get by minimally for 5 weeks (I think). With your support I will be able to, first of all, do some much needed personal healing. Over the last 10 years I have been dealing with a health condition called psoriasis, which is incurable by traditional western standards. With the funds raised, I am seeking to enroll myself in a week long transformative healing retreat center. While here, the issues will be addressed from a cellular level, through the healing indigenous plant medicines of Peru, all while under the care of professionally trained shamans in a safe environment.
Another tremendously important aspect of the trip is to safely travel across the Andean mountains. The best method I know of is to hire a qualified tour guide, which will ensure that I am able to safely cross the land (and come back in one piece). There are various options for this, all of which are not currently feasible for me financially speaking, as of yet.
The next mission of this trip and campaign is to fully immerse myself on this path, as I have recently moved my shamanic wellness office. During this time, I am in the process of expanding my healing services, which require much needed funds to expedite all the necessary changes.
To me this is not only about raising funds for “a trip” or just a “give to Juan” campaign. This is about giving back to the Qero people who have kept this knowledge alive for millennia, coupled with an opportunity to give to yourself at the same time. This trip is about deepening my personal healing as well as incorporating our collective healing – as I will be taking you with me energetically, as I sit in ceremony on the mountain tops. These five weeks in Perú will give me the opportunity to further my health, my training and my experience. This will empower me to give even more back to our community, while bridging the gap between Peru and Chicago. This encompasses a principle called Ayni, meaning right reciprocity, which is central to the Qero people. In other words it's about making sure that everybody wins! This trip is so important to me because it is about stepping out of limitations and fully embracing my dreams, my health, my lineage, my tribe and our world! I hope that in some way as I let go to the power of my purpose, it will empower all who witness this to do the same. Life is short and we only have so much time to truly live, so instead of waiting another year when everything could be “perfect” I say yes to NOW!
What am I raising the funds for
First of all, let me thank you for anything that you feel called to donate to support this experience. I feel immense gratitude for this tradition. One that has changed my life and the lives of all the people I have had the privilege of working with throughout the years. This would be an opportunity for us to give back and make this healing my wish come true. For those of you who are not familiar with this area in Perú, the residents of these remote villages face some challenges. These are mainly things you and I most likely take for granted such as: no access to running water, electricity, education, health care, etc. While the communities continue to face these challenges, they have managed to keep their ancient healing traditions alive. I am grateful to them and I am grateful to you. With the money we raise, I intend to do the following:
15% of all funds raised will be donated to an Organization or Community and will be posted when chosen ($975 if we reach Goal)
5% will be used to purchase textiles, wares, etc. that support the continuance of the culture and traditions.($325 if we reach Goal)
$3750 (needed by Oct 17th)– This is maximum for a fully planned 2 week excursion through the land and sacred sites with qualified guides, transportation and lodging. To deepen my connection to the path which has brought so much to my life.
$1500 (needed by Oct 25th) – Week long healing retreat to address my condition of psoriasis by the use of cellular healing.
$? Anything remaining shall be used to fund the new Luminous Healer Shamanic Wellness Center and its upcoming projects which include a new website, furniture, renovations, programs, etc.
But again, being in Ayni is a deeply important aspect of this, therefore this is also about you. As a show of my gratitude for your generosity, below are the descriptions of the rewards you will receive for your generous donations.
Thank you soo much for taking the time to support this dream.
With infinite love and eternal gratitude,
Juan E. Alzate
