I am JuanNique from Long Beach, California. I am planning to attend Howard University in the fall of 2020 but we need a little help along the way.  I have always been a high grade student with principal's honor rolls, national honor societies and connections that I knew I had to make in order to better my resources. Since I told my parents that I wish to pursue a career that requires me to go into Medical School, we have had various conversations on how hard it may be to get there or to pay back funds that I borrow. Traveling so far will alter my entire life especially since everything will have to be purchased to give the impression of a replica of the life I am leaving behind. But I am so honored to be going to one of the top HBCUs to get a feel of how it is to be in touch with people who go through the same struggles that I do, look like me, are comfortable talking about our ancestors and being the change. I plan to contribute to a better image of what black women are. Any help or support will be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.
