Juanita Valerie MacDonald passed away peacefully at home on August 5, 2025. Upon finding cancer in one of her kidneys, doctors removed it, but it wasn't soon enough. Cancer quickly spread to her bladder, hip, lung, and finally her spine. Due to the rapid advancement of the cancer, insurance was unavailable to her and her family. What savings there were, were wiped out by a new "friend" and caregiver the family had hired to help Juanita as she had become bedridden. Thousands of dollars Juanita had been saving for her final expenses. Now that burden falls to her surviving family. Specifically, her youngest son, Samuel and the love of her life, Ernie. Both of them have spent countless hours taking care of his Juanita over the last 11 months. Sam making the 2-hour trip each way, sometimes multiple times in a day, to make sure that everyone in his world is taken care of. While Ernie having to take more days off of work than he could attend to make sure she was taken care of. Ernie & Sam beautifully shared and balanced the monumental task of taking care of the most important person in their lives.

Simple and respectful arrangements have been made, but these still require payment. We know that everyone at this time is fighting their own struggle. Day-to-day life is so much more expensive than it ever was before. We need our village's help with this one. Anything that can be provided to help cover the cost of this final difficult task is appreciated beyond measure.
