Juana's Pancreatic Cancer Fight

Tia Juannis Go Fund Me Campaign

Tia Juannis was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer on July 26, 2020. She fought the vicious disease for 2 years. Despite Tia Juannis knowing the odds of beating Pancreatic stage 4 cancer, her positivity and will to fight kept her going for 2+ years. Since the day of her diagnosis, her life changed forever. She immediately started chemo at Hoag in Newport Beach. While in chemo, she was accepted in a Pancreatic Cancer research study trial that required Tia Juannis to be at hospital facilities every other day. She never complained and kept a smile on her face. Tia became friends with all the nurses and staff at Hoag and made the best out of her gloomy days. The trial lasted 7 months and she was told that the trial was not reducing the masses and the cancer cells continued to spread. Still, Tia Juannis stayed positive and never complained about the journey Tia stated God had chosen for her life. Immediately, she was put on a different chemo regime that her body rejected. On October 8, 2022, Tia Juannis was put in hospice care at her home with 24- hour nurse care. Shortly after, On October 19, 2022, at 2:02 AM with her family by her side, The Lord called Tia Juannis home. As she took her last breath, she had a smile on her face. A smile that radiated to everyone that crossed her path. A smile that will never be forgotten.

Your Support

Unfortunately, her insurance did not cover her hospital visits, chemo, radiation treatments, surgeries, MRIs, emergency room visits, cell infusions, blood transfusions, and more during her two-year fight. To cover her medical expense that accumulated throughout her rigorous fight, any amount donated will go a long way toward helping her husband, Keith Covarrubias pay off outstanding medical bills. Her family is asking that in lieu of flowers, contributions to her pending medical expenses would be greatly appreciated.

We are so grateful for contributions of any size, sharing of the campaign, or other support you can offer. If you want to learn more about Tia Juannis's situation and/ or Tia Juannis's signs of Pancreatic Cancer prior to diagnosis, please reach out, and we will be happy to connect with you.

Thank you,

Keith Covarrubias
