Juan Pablo’s 2nd Open Heart surgery

Hi, my name is Mayra, and I'm reaching out with a heavy heart and hopeful spirit on behalf of our very brave nephew, a 7-year-old named Juan Pablo.

Juan Pablo has been diagnosed with a serious heart condition called, Moderate Aortic insufficiency and postoperative state of Subvalvular Aortic Ridge Resection and doctors have told us that surgery is not just an option—it’s a necessity. There is a possibility he might need a 3rd surgery.

Postoperative state of subvalvular aortic ridge resection. This indicates that the patient has recently undergone surgery to remove a fibrous ridge or membrane located just below the aortic valve. This condition is known as subaortic stenosis, where the area just below the aortic valve is obstructed, reducing blood flow from the heart to the body.

Moderate aortic insufficiency. This refers to a condition where the aortic valve doesn't close properly, allowing blood to leak backward into the left ventricle (the main pumping chamber of the heart) during diastole (when the heart relaxes).

As a family, we’re doing everything we can emotionally, physically, and financially, but the cost of the surgery, travel, hospital stays, and ongoing care is overwhelming. We’ve been quoted $23,000 — a number far beyond what we can afford on our own. He lives in Mexico and unfortunately has no health insurance. We are asking for help to raise $10,000.
