In 2018, after suffering from constant headaches, Juan Pablo was diagnosed with adenoid cystic carcinoma of the soft palate.
In May of that year, he had a 15-hour long surgery to remove his palate and upper right jaw. After this, he had 25 radiotherapy sessions to leave him cancer-free for three whole years.
In April 2021, the pain returned, and the bad news was yet to come. After follow-up tests, the adenoid cystic carcinoma tumor was back, but this time at the base of his skull. So he had to undergo a second surgery, but this time the doctors could not remove all. The maxillary nerve is still compromised, and this causes lots of pain.
After reviewing possible treatments with doctors from all over the world, they all agreed that prothonterapy is the best. Unfortunately, it is not available in Ecuador or South America. This treatment is very expensive and takes around two months.
We want to raise funds to cover Juanpa's treatment so he can share many more years with his family.
Thank you very much for all your support!
The donations are in Euros because the treatment will be in Spain.
