Juan Maradiaga's road to recovery

On Thursday February 2nd at around 12:30 in the morning Kristina Olivo, Mike Ortiz and Juan Maradiaga were hit by a drunk driver who ran a red light on 28th street by the stockyards. Mike was a little shook up but Kristina and Juan were sent immediately to ICU at JPS in downtown Fort Worth. Kristina recovered quickly and is now out of the hospital but Juan took the brunt of the hit and is still in the hospital. Juan was unresponsive when they got him to JPS, he has undergone 3 surgeries which include cutting open the stomach twice and the the last surgery was to fix his pelvis which was broken. Juan had internal bleeding so bad that they had to take out his spleen, fix his damaged stomach, and repair his liver and urethra which was damaged from the force of his seatbelt. Juan has 3 fractured ribs on his left side and one broken rib on his right side, he also has a fractured skull and has to wear a neck brace for 6-8 weeks.
