On August 5th, 2022, my father, Juan Lopez was severely injured in a workplace accident. This incident left my father with horrific third and second degree burns on over 46 percent of his body. He has already undergone three surgeries and is still on a ventilator since he can't breathe on his own yet.

A little bit about my Dad:

My Dad is a loving father of five who would do anything for his children. My Dad always made sure we felt loved growing up, and even though we're older, my Dad still tells us how much he loves us.

My Dad is the embodiment of the American Dream. He came to the United States at the age of 7 alongside my grandparents, searching for a better life. Times were hard for him growing up.

Despite all of his struggles, my Dad worked his tail off to build a better life. He worked in the oil field for almost ten years, and was unfortunately laid off in 2015. We lost the only home my brothers and I knew because of that lay off. He has since worked for a rock quarry since late 2015. My Dad is not scared of hard work.

My Dad is the absolute hardest working man on Earth. At work, he is the first one in, and the last one out. He is a firm believer in doing things right the first time. He is my inspiration.

My parents' hard work paid off last year, when they were finally able to buy a new house. We have loved living here and it is the house we always dreamed of growing up. However, after his accident, we are facing a time of uncertainty. We don't want my Dad to have to worry about finances, the only thing he needs to worry about is his recovery. He does have a very long, painful road of recovery ahead of him, and he will be unable to work for several months, if not a year. My mother is also unable to work because she is at the hospital with him, and will be for as long as he is there to help care for him and advocate for him.

That's why we're asking for help. My Dad has always been there for us when we needed it most, and now we need help so we can support him in his time of need.
