Juan Hipolito

My name is John Paul Hipolito and I'm here to let all family and friends of my father known as Juan Hipolito, is in hospice and his final journey is near. He is surround by many loved ones, and has many vistors.

Juan Martinez-Hipolito, Born December 31, 1947 in Lamesa Texas to Juan and Hortencia Hipolito. He served in the military from June 11th 1965 as a PVT E-1 and honorably discharged as a SGT E-5 on February 23, 1968.

May 31st, 1979, he was admitted to the California state bar and spent several years fighting for immigration reform and civil rights.

One such time, my father Juan helped a family member of ours who was facing discrimantion as she worked as the only hispanic teacher, in the same school he attended as a child, in Lamesa, Texas. They won the trial by the way.

His ability to work with the public allowed him to work with the G.I. forum and United Farm Workers Union. He was married a total of 4 times with 9 children.

He talked about his adventures as well the history as told to him, of the Hipolito family, and its Coat of Arms and crest. He passed on the history of my grand parents, Juan & Hortencia Hipolito, and spoke of family in Texas and elsewhere.

I didn't get to meet my father until I was a married man with my own family at a Hipolito family reunion in Round Rock Texas, many years ago. It was like looking in a mirror of me 22 years older.

My father's life was complicated at times, but I wanna say that he loved his family, no matter what. Through thick and thin.

Im writing this, I'm smiling about my first memory of him meeting my son Nathan. Very cool.

The Hipolito family is a stong proud group, however I'm here to humbly reach out and ask for any assistance that anyone could gift, to help his family cover buriel cost.

My father will be buried in Las Vegas, Nevada at the veterans cemetary.
