Juan Garcia Memorial plaque
Donation protected
Friends and colleagues of Juan Garcia, we would like to ask for your help in raising a donation for a “Sierra Stars in Memoriam” plaque honoring the memory of the Juan and only, our friend Juan Carlos Garcia.
A star forever in our hearts...today August 4th, 2024 would have been his 56th birthday.
El Diablo, Crazylegs, Elton Juan, Juanito; our soft-spoken, big-hearted friend had many nicknames and lived a life of many adventures. Juan was a genuine and sincere example of the best of all our humanity. The first to offer help that was needed or to stay late til the job was done, he was the kind of guy that would already be shovel in-hand if your car happened to be stuck on a snow berm during winter. Or sit next to you patiently listening if you had a really terrible day and needed someone to talk to. He loved sunny weekends at the lake, time spent laughing with family and friends, and summer evening rounds golfing at Sierra star after work. Juan was quick with a smile, a kind word, or his signature cure-all shot of Jäger after a long day. For the people of Mammoth Mountain ski area, he was an IT guardian angel for all “things” that were broken and a cool head in stressful situations. Steady, calm, and a dedicated and dependable leader; his memory still lives on for all who knew and loved him.
If everyone he ever shared a drink or a laugh with for an after shifter could chip in even 5 dollars, it would go a long way to raising the funds for a permanent memorial for a dearly departed friend. The proceeds of the memorial fundraiser will go to the Mammoth Hospital Foundation to support advancements in programs, facilities, and technology.
Happy Birthday Juanito. We sure do miss you.
