Being an immigrant is a major life decision that can bring significant changes to an individual's life. The excitement of being in a new place, and meeting new people, make it easy to begin dreaming about the future and planning for the trip and arrival in a new country.
The adrenaline of the unknown fuels you to leave home. It can be challenging because of language but the culture Inspires you to fit into a new world. The desire of many immigrants coming to the US, from a third world country is to aspire to a better life.
Juan Estuardo Calvo Lopez was a young immigrant who came from Guatemala, at 17 years old. “Juanito”, his closest friend used to call him. Arrived in April of 2015, with his pockets full of plans and dreams. He lived in our Berkshire community, and like many of us, he focused on working hard and supporting his family.
“Juanito” died last week, from a brain bleed caused either by falling or getting hit. There is an open investigation and they have not released the body yet.
Everyone knew Juanito in Great Barrington, he was known for his kind heart and big smile.
He lived with his mother Rosalina Lopez who is currently facing the financial, and legal obligations that one needs to fulfill before and after repatriation. Rosalina wishes to take Juanito’s body back home and mourn in her hometown, Jutiapa Conguaco, Guatemala.

We will never forget the memories he left, we treasure in our hearts the days when Juanito our "Patojo" inspired us to work and have a better life. We know that he is now on Eternal rest. As a family, we ask for an economic collaboration to repatriate the body of Juan Calvo López. We hope in God and the family because we understand the pain that losing a loved one means
