I am raising money for a trusted friend in Venezuela who is in need of help beyond his means. Here is his story...

I am Juan Carlos Ariza, a Venezuelan Graphic Designer, and I am going through a very difficult time.
On February 12th, 2018, I suffered a very bad fall in which I fractured the humerus of the left arm. At a public hospital they "tried" to fix the fracture with 3 hanging casts that I have worn since then. I have tried, for almost two years, by all possible means, to receive public assistance but it has been impossible.

El 12 de febrero de 2018, sufrí una aparatosa caída en la que me fracturé el húmero del brazo izquierdo. En el hospital Domingo Luciani "trataron" de arreglar la fractura con 3 yesos colgantes que he llevado desde entonces. He intentado, durante casi dos años, por todos los medios posibles, de recibir asistencia pública pero ha sido imposible.
The time that has passed, generated a pseudoarthrosis, which is a callus as a joint in the fracture. My only chance of solving this is through surgery where callosity should be removed very carefully because it involves the radial nerve and the humoral artery, scraping the calcified ends of the bone, inserting bone from the iliac crest (hip) and fusing everything with plaque and pins.
Con el tiempo que ha pasado, se me ha generado una pseudoartrosis, que es una callosidad a manera de articulación en la fractura. Mi única posibilidad de resolver esto, es con una cirugía donde deben remover con mucho cuidado la callosidad porque involucra el nervio radial y la arteria humoral, raspar los extremos calcificados del hueso, insertar hueso de la cresta ilíaca (cadera), y soldar todo con placa y clavos.
That is why today I turn to the generosity of all who wish to help me heal my arm. I need to continue working as a designer, because I am the only provider of my family and this mishap has seriously affected my finances.

Juan's unique situation has made it extremely difficult to find a hospital that would take his case, but he has finally found a medical facility - below is an estimate of the medical services and supplies (my apologies that they are in Spanish).
La situación médica única de Juan ha hecho que sea extremadamente difícil encontrar un hospital que se encargue de su caso, pero finalmente ha encontrado un centro médico; a continuación se muestra un estimado de los servicios y suministros médicos.
The cost in US dollars, by the time the budgets were issued in bolivars, as approximately $2,600 US for the surgery (1$ at that time was Bs. 39.000). The clinic has recommended that we try to raise a up to $4,000 US to cover additional costs including: X-rays, medications, therapies, etc., but also due to the potential for complications.
For those who want to know, I will be withdrawing the funds and transferring them electronically to a Banesco & Deutsche Bank account that the clinic has for Juan Carlos. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
At this time of year we often spend more money buying gifts for ourselves, family and friends. I am asking that you consider taking a portion of that money and giving it this fund to help an individual who really needs our help.
