Hello family and friends. My name is Jazmin Nevarez. I’m reaching out to everyone and anyone in a time of need due to an unexpected emergency. My brother’s apartment caught on fire on Monday afternoon while he was at work. The neighbors AC unit was faulty and caused a fire to spread thru the gutter up to their roof. His girlfriend has lived there with her family for over 10 years. She was home as well as her sister and little brother and their dog. Everyone made it out safely but they lost it all. The landlord is waiting to hear back from the insurance company but in the meantime I’m asking for donations to help them get on their feet. They are currently looking for a place, while staying at my place. We know and understand times are tough but anything is highly appreciated.

Hola familia y amigos. Me llamo Jazmín Nevarez. Les escribo debido a una emergencia inesperada. El apartamento de mi hermano se incendió el lunes por la tarde mientras él estaba trabajando. Debido a un aire acondicionado del vecino que falló y incendio el canalón de lluvia hasta llegar al techo. Su novia lleva más de 10 años viviendo allí con su familia. Ella estaba en casa, al igual que su hermana, su hermano pequeño y su perro. Todos lograron salir sanos y salvos, pero lo perdieron todo. El propietario está esperando la respuesta de la compañía de seguros, pero mientras tanto, solicito donaciones para ayudarlos a recuperarse. Están buscando donde vivir, por el momento se están quedando conmigo. Sabemos y entendemos que los tiempos son difíciles, pero cualquier ayuda es muy apreciada.

Update: the landlord hasn’t given any information and when asked about the insurance claim just says, “it takes time”
