We've watched Juampi grow up surfing on our little Caribbean island.  This year he proudly moved ALL of his belongings out of his parents' house to embark on his 'adult life' as a competitive surfer living alone with his girlfriend Ana Melissa.   Their lives were forever changed this week when the house they inhabited burned to the ground leaving them with nothing but their health and the clothes on their backs.  Juampi will have to endure the arduous task of obtaining a new Venezuelan passport in order to travel again (which he needs to for surf competitions).  Last time it took him 10 months.  Please consider donating whatever you are comfortable with in order to assist this young couple in pursuing their dreams.  

We live on a remote island off the Caribbean coast and paperwork/shopping/civilization is far away in Panama City, making the recovery process all the more complicated and expensive.  At the time of the fire, Juampi had several friends visiting for a surf competition and the total surfboard loss was approx 20 boards...
