Remembering Ramon

On May 29th at 9:16am Ramon Echeverria was working along the side of I94 in Racine County when he was struck and killed by a hit and run driver.  Ramon may have just been seen as an employee of Grube's Towing, but he was really so much more to us all.  Ramon was a cherished son, a devoted husband and a loving father of three beautiful children.  Ramon was passionate about helping others.  It did not matter if it was a customer, a coworker, or a stranger he just met.  Ramon was there to help in any way he could.  He was an ordinary guy who left an extraordinary impression. He would buy you lunch, give you gas money, or even buy you shoes if you needed them.  It was not because he had the means to do it, it was because it was the right thing to do in his eyes.  He would refuse to let us be sad in his loss though. Ramon would ask us to take care of each other in his absence We are using this platform to support Ramon's wife and children through these troubling times. They not only depended on his love and kindness, they depended on his support financially.  I am hoping that we can help support Ramon's family and give them some reassurance that they can take the time they need to grieve and not be worried about the bills to come. Grube's Towing and Repair is helping organize this campaign for the family's benefit. Our goal is to raise $4000 over the next three weeks. Lastly, we want to keep Ramon's legacy strong by using his loss to educate the importance of Moving Over and Slowing Down for those working on the side of the road.  All people have the right to come home to their loved ones at night.
