Hello everyone! I have had to update this GoFundMe now that we had 2 more teams qualify for the National Tournament this weekend. THREE of the Lincoln-Way Central Angler’s Club teams (5 anglers and their boat captain/coach) have qualified to fish the Bassmaster High School National bass fishing tournament on Lake Hartwell in Anderson, SC from July 23-29, 2023. The high school will only kick in money if it is an in-state IHSA event. National events aren’t covered for any sport or activity. We are looking to raise approximately $6,000 to partially cover fuel, food, and accommodations for the trip. With fuel costs at such high prices it will be nearly $1,500 just in fuel costs for each team to drive down and for the boat during the 6 days on the water. This is an incredible opportunity for these young anglers to fish against the best high school anglers in the country and I really don’t wanted to ask them to foot the entire bill. Our club participates in the annual Take a Veteran fishing tournament, donates time to the New Lenox Library kids fishing classes, volunteers at the Northern Illinois Food Bank, and participates in local clean up efforts at local parks and ponds.
