Help the Hughes Family Find a Forever Home in Garnet Valley

Donation protected
Dear friends, family, and compassionate supporters,

This is a difficult request, coming from a humble heart, but the Hughes family is reaching out to the community they love in hope and need. They have always dreamed of providing their four children—a 14-year-old, 12-year-old, 8-year-old, and 3-year-old—with the stability of a forever home. Currently, the Hughes family rents a home, but their dream is to purchase a house in Bethel, a place that has been a strong source of love, support, and community for them.

In December of 2024, the Hughes family’s world was shattered when Bob, the family’s loving husband and father, suffered multiple massive widowmaker heart attacks. After receiving a stent, Bob was sent home from the hospital, only to experience cardiac arrest just two days later. Tragically, despite the incredible bravery of their 14-year-old son, Jackson, who performed chest compressions on Bob until the police arrived, Bob passed away after his cardiac arrest. Jackson’s courage in those harrowing moments is a testament to the strength and bond of this close-knit family.

Bob had a long and dedicated career, working as a Code Enforcement Officer and Highway Foreman for the Borough of Marcus Hook. He was deeply committed to his work and his community, always going above and beyond to ensure the safety and well-being of the people around him. In addition to his professional life, Bob was a volunteer firefighter, generously giving back to others and supporting many charitable causes. His dedication and kindness left a lasting impact on everyone he met.

In the wake of his passing, his wife, Jillian Hudson, has stepped up to provide for their family on her own. She works as a Claim Specialist at State Farm, doing everything she can to support their children while navigating the emotional and financial challenges of life without Bob.

The Hughes children are deeply involved in this community, and they want to continue growing up surrounded by the same supportive environment. Jackson plays football for the Garnet Valley Jaguars and is a Scout First Class with Bethel Troop 191. His siblings, McKinley, Liam, and Benjamin, also love participating in local events and activities that foster a sense of belonging and connection. Staying in Bethel will allow them to continue building meaningful relationships and growing up in a place that feels like home.

This GoFundMe has been created to help the Hughes family get closer to their goal of purchasing a permanent home in the Garnet Valley area—a place where they can continue to build their lives and create lasting memories for their children. Your generous donations will go directly toward helping them make this dream a reality, offering them the stability and security they desperately need.

We know that times are tough for many, but any contribution, no matter how small, will go a long way in helping the Hughes family provide their children with the safe and loving home they deserve.

Thank you for your kindness, support, and generosity during this incredibly difficult time. The Hughes family is forever grateful.

With love and appreciation,
The Hughes Family
