Dear friends and family of Carrie, Rob and Logan Kemper,
Carrie has been one of my dearest friends for more than 30 years and she has brought a lot of light into my life. I suspect that if you are reading this, she has brought a lot of light into yours, too!
This is particularly amazing given the chronic pain that Carrie has suffered with for years. Carrie has fought to stay cheery and positive through it all — she does not like to burden others with her suffering — but the many years of pain have taken an extreme physical, emotional and mental toll, limiting her ability to eat, sleep, work, play and live. Over the past decade, her symptoms have grown increasingly harsh and her diagnoses have multiplied to the point that she can almost no longer function. Her pain is unbearable.
You are probably aware that Carrie has been seeking to heal for many years now without success. Among her many diagnoses are Sjogren’s Syndrome, multiple other autoimmune disorders, small fiber neuropathy, growth hormone deficiency, Lyme disease, circulation and digestive problems, Epstein-Barr virus, biofilm and stagnant blood. Her nervous system does not function properly either, which is just one of the sources of her terrible pain. She can’t speak well as she doesn’t have enough saliva and she struggles to find words as the diseases have affected her brain. She continues to lose weight.
However, there is a plan for Carrie that we are all hoping will take away her terrible pain and return her to vibrancy. She has just recently enrolled in a course of treatment at the Clearwater Clinic in Florida, where she is traveling three to four times a week. (This involves three hours of driving time which, in addition to the obvious strain and cost, is also limiting Rob’s ability to get his work done.) Carrie’s doctor has a plan for her conditions that includes ozone therapy. She also will be having a substantial amount of dental work, which has been identified as a source of toxicity, pain and problems.
The treatment that she will undergo will cost her family more than $80,000 out of pocket. Julie (Carrie’s sister), has received dozens of calls and emails from people asking what they can do, and several friends have brought up the idea of a contribution fund, so in light of the many folks who are eager to help, I have set up this GoFundMe account to allow friends and family to make contributions to ease the financial burden for Carrie and her family. Our contributions will be collected and made immediately available to Carrie through GoFundMe to withdraw and use for her treatment. There is no deadline for your contributions, and there is no penalty for not reaching the goal set (which is $40,000). If you know someone who knows and loves Carrie, please pass this along.
And, whether you can or cannot contribute to this fund, please continue to send your thoughts and prayers her way! They are appreciated.
Many thanks in advance,
Jordan Speer
